Staff Reporter: A new executive committee of the Bangladeshi American Friends Society (BAFS) has been formed in USA state of Connecticut. Mohammad Hossain Swapan was elected president and AKM Mezbah Uddin was elected general secretary at a meeting in Torrington on Sunday (February 21st) local time.
The meeting, chaired by Alamgir Kabir Lavlu, discussed the memory of language martyrs and the significance of February 21 on the occasion of International Mother Language Day. At this time he announced the dissolution of the old committee on the advice of all.
Other members of the newly formed 13 members of the Bangladeshi American Friends Society (BAFS) are: Vice-Presidents Mohammad Alamgir Kabir Lavlu, Mohammad Mansur Hossain, Mohammad S Chowdhury Shahid, Asst.General Secretary Mohiuddin Chowdhury, Organizing Secretary Ariful Islam Nipun, Finance Secretary Mohammad Arju, Publicity and Public Relations Secretary Rabiul Alam Sumon, Sports and Cultural Secretary Mohammad M Kabir Manju. The members of the executive committee are Mohammad Humayun Kabir, Mohammad Hossain and SM Rahman Aziz.
