Staff Reporter: After almost a year of extreme suffering, the normal consulate service for expatriates was re-launched at the Bangladesh Consulate in New York. From March 3, 2021, consular service recipients will be able to go directly to the Bangladesh Consulate and get services directly by following Corona Epidemic Health Rules. No appointment will be required for this. However, the postal service will continue as usual.
Due to the Corona epidemic, the expatriates were not getting the desired service from the Bangladesh Consulate in New York as only online appointments and postal services were available.
Expatriate Bangladeshis in eight states under the consulate are suffering due to not getting online appointments. To alleviate the suffering of the expatriates, the consulate has announced the launch of consular services without an appointment following the hygiene rules. He announced that from now on consular services can be taken without application from Bangladesh Consulate in New York.
The Bangladesh Consulate in New York said in a statement that as per the previous rules, applications for all types of consular services would be accepted during office hours from 9.30 am to 1.30 pm and delivery would be provided daily from 3 pm to 5 pm. All clients are requested to wear masks and follow other local hygiene rules to visit the consulate.
The statement said that because of the Corona epidemic, local governments in New York currently have a ban on more than a certain number of indoor gatherings, so customers may need to line up outside the consulate to follow the hygiene rules.
Those who have already made an appointment online will be able to come to the consulate at the convenient time of the accepted appointment or during office hours at their convenience.
