Staff Reporter: The bodies of Bangladeshi youths were recovered from Hudson River in New Jersey in United States.The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office is investigating two dead bodies found in the Jersey City portion of the Hudson River, this time near the Colgate Clock on the waterfront.
“The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit is investigating a body that was found in the Hudson River on the Jersey City waterfront near the Colgate Clock shortly before 2pm. More info to follow,” the HCPO tweeted minutes ago.
They are already investigating two other fatalities in Jersey City: a body floating in the Hudson River near the Harborside and an incident where a pedestrian was struck and killed. The HCPO has identified the pedestrian killed as Shawn Charles, 26, of Jersey City.
Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez provided details of the two individuals found in the Hudson River late last night.
Yesterday, shortly after 7:30 a.m., members of the Jersey City Police Department and the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit responded to the Hudson River near the end of Morris Canal Park in Jersey City on reports of a female in the water, Suarez said in a statement.
The victim, a 22-year-old woman from Manhattan, was pronounced deceased at 7:43 a.m. at the scene. Just before 1 p.m., the Jersey City police received a call of a second body found in the Morris Canal, approximately 50 feet from the first victim.
The victim, later identified as Umair Saleh, 23, of Edison, was pronounced deceased at 1:08 p.m. at the scene. The cause and manner of death of both victims is pending the findings of the Regional Medical Examiner.
The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit and the Jersey City Police Department are actively investigating the deaths.
