USA expatriates demand for ending Israeli attacks on Palestine

Staff Reporter : The Civil Society of New York, a newly formed organization of Bangladeshis living in New York, has demanded an end to Israeli attacks on Palestine. Protests against the indiscriminate airstrikes in Gaza, the killing of children and innocent Palestinians are said to be their first initiative.
Local time on Wednesday (May 19) evening at the Diversity Plaza in Jackson Heights, the United States Branch of the Ghatok dalal nirmul Committee, Sammilita Sangskritik Jote, Udichi USA branch, Ganajagaran Mancha, Progressive Forum and other political and social organizations participated.

The protesters called for an end to the ongoing conflict, as well as a neutral role for US President Joe Biden, the United Nations and the international community to restore a peaceful environment between Palestine and Israel.
Progressive Forum President Khorshedul Islam, United States Udichi President Jiban Biswas, 90’s Student Struggle Parishad Central Student Leader Shahab Uddin, Ghatak Dalal Nirmul Committee United States Branch President Fahim Reza Noor and Shikrity Barua, Convener of Sammilita Sangskritik Jote Mithun Ahmed, Dhaka Ganajagaran addressed the meeting. Manchakarmi Syed Zakir Ahmed Rony, Jasad United Branch General Secretary Noor Alam Jiku, former student leader Zakir Hossain Bachchu, former student leader Samad Chowdhury and Sanjivan Kumar and Tofazzal Liton on behalf of the organizers.
Mahmuda Begum Moni, Darpan Kabir, Shah J, Chowdhury, Kanu Dutta, Abul Kashem, Biswajit Saha, Mujibur Rahman, Darud Mia Ronel, Mofazzal Hossain, Shafiul Azam, Shahjahan Mia and others were present at the rally.

The speakers said that the Israeli bombing is not stopping in Palestine. Residential buildings were not left out either. At least 250 people, including 70 children, have been killed so far. In response, the Palestinian liberation organization Hamas launched a rocket attack on Tel Aviv. The Israeli Prime Minister has announced the use of force in Gaza. Meanwhile, US President Joe Biden’s support for Israel despite the indiscriminate killing of Palestinian children has sparked sharp criticism around the world.
Rozina Islam, a senior reporter for Prothom Alo, has called for a protest rally in New York if bail is not granted and the false charges against her are not dropped within the next 24 hours.
