Bangladeshi’s car stolen in broad daylight in New York

Staff Reporter : An incident of theft occurred in broad daylight in New York, USA.The incident took place at around 6:00pm local time on Saturday (June 12) in front of Sterling Bank at the corner of 73rd Street and Broadway in Jackson Heights.
It is learned that the owner of the car, Mohammad Islam, left his Toyota Camry (DXL 8635) in an emergency and tried to flee with the stolen car when he went to fetch food from a shop. Sensing this, Malik Islam rushed to the car and grabbed the collar of his shirt but the snatcher pushed him and fled with the car. Helpless, he informed the police.
Police are monitoring the car. Police have assured that they will be able to return the car to the owner only if they can arrest the hijacker. Islam said he alone tried to apprehend the hijacker.
Many Bangladeshis were standing around but did not come forward for help. Islam also mentioned that the hijacker was an Asian.
