FM visits Bangladesh Consulate General in New York

Staff Reporter: Foreign Minister. AK Abdul Momen visited the office of the Bangladesh Consulate General in New York on Wednesday (June 16) and witnessed the quality of various types of consular services. Narayanganj-4 MP Shamim Osman was present at the time.
On his arrival at the Consulate, he was received by all the officers and staff of the Consulate, including Consul General Sadia Faizunnesa. During the visit, he provided guidance to the consulate officials. He advised the consulate officials to ensure quality services to the expatriate Bangladeshis as part of the present government’s expatriate friendly diplomacy. The foreign minister spoke to the consular service seekers at the time. He expressed satisfaction that the consulate provided services in a systematic manner. Members of the community, including service candidates at the consulate, were thrilled to find the foreign minister among them. The Foreign Minister exchanged greetings with them and said that expatriate Bangladeshis have been playing an important role in brightening the image of the country. In his brief address to the expatriates present, he painted a picture of the indomitable progress of Bangladesh’s economy under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, daughter of Bangabandhu.
On the occasion of the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the golden jubilee of independence, Consul General Sadia Faizunnesa thanked all those present, including the Foreign Minister and Members of Parliament.
The foreign minister is currently on a visit to New York to attend a meeting of the UN on Rohingya and other important issues.
