Staff Reporter : Eid congregations have been held in more than two hundred open fields in the United States. Expatriate Bangladeshis in the United States have celebrated Eid-ul-Azha, the biggest religious festival of Muslims in the country. Millions of devout worshipers took part in Eid prayers at Bangladeshi-run mosques, adjacent grounds, park grounds and church grounds in different states of the United States on Tuesday morning.
Eid congregations start at 8 am in more than two hundred Bangladeshi-run mosques or adjacent open fields across the United States. Besides, Eid Jamaat is held in the mosques run by the citizens of other countries till 10 am. Local administration and law enforcement took special measures for the security of Eid Jamaat. The big Eid Jamaat in New York is held at the Jamaica Muslim Center. In addition, Eid prayers have been held at mosques in other areas of Jamaica, including Jackson Heights, the Bronx, Brooklyn, Ozone Park, Astoria, and Manhattan.
New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Washington DC, Virginia, Massachusetts, Connecticut, California, Texas, Florida, Ohio, Illinois, Colorado, Delaware, Georgia, Kansas, Maryland, Michigan, South Carolina, Washington and Kentucky, Eid Jamaat has been held in various mosques and Islamic centers and in more than 200 open fields. In areas where there are no mosques, Friday and Eid congregations have been held in the church’s main hall for a long time.
At the end of the congregation, special prayers were offered for the salvation of all people from the epidemic Corona virus in the world, including the wish of peace to the Muslim Ummah. Bangladeshi community leaders and representatives of the Bangladesh government in the United States also took part in the Eid congregations held at various places.
