Staff Reporter: For the third time, the traditional mezzan of Chattogram will be held at Seaside Park in Bridgeport on Saturday (September 4) at the initiative of Chattogram residents living in the US state of Connecticut. The mezzan will run from 11 am to 7 pm on Saturday. Apart from the people of Chattogram, guests from other districts of Connecticut have also been invited, the organizers said.
As in the first year, a convening committee has been formed to make the event a success under the slogan ‘Chalon Jai Mezzan Khai’. Nazim Uddin convener and Farid Chowdhury Tareq were elected member secretaries.
Mezzan was not held last year (2020) as a result of the terrible outbreak of epidemic corona across the United States, including Connecticut. Due to this, a lot of expatriate Bangladeshis from different regions including Chattogram are hoping for a gathering this time. For the first time in Connecticut, the traditional mezzan of Chattogram was held on 23 June 2018 at Seaside Park in Bridgeport. At first, a large number of expatriates gathered at this event.
