Staff Reporter: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina left New York for Washington DC this morning after concluding her week-long official visit after attending the 76th session of the UN General Assembly and high-level side-talks.

A VVIP chartered flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines with the Prime Minister and her entourage departed from New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport for Washington DC at 9.15 am local time. The plane landed at Dullas International Airport in Washington DC at 10:03 a.m. local time.
Bangladesh’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Rabab Fatima bade farewell to the Prime Minister at the airport. Bangladesh’s ambassador to the United States. Shahidul Islam welcomed the Prime Minister at Dallas International Airport.

Earlier, the Prime Minister arrived in New York on September 19 after a two-day break in Helsinki, the capital of Finland. On the morning of 17 September, the Prime Minister and her entourage left Dhaka for New York on a Biman flight.
During her stay in New York, Sheikh Hasina addressed the 76th session of the UN General Assembly on 24 September. She followed in the footsteps of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and delivered a speech in Bengal.
During her stay in New York from 19 to 24 September, the Prime Minister attended a number of high-level and closed-door meetings and held bilateral meetings with heads of various governments, states and organizations.

The Prime Minister planted a sapling in the UN Garden on the North Lawn of the UN Headquarters in his honor on the occasion of the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on 20 September. The Prime Minister is scheduled to return to Dhaka on October 1.
