Staff Reporter: Shah Nawaz, president and CEO of Golden Age Home Care, has filed a lawsuit against the opposite partner for seeking an account of the Pay-Check Protection Program (PPP) loan for the Home Care business during the Corona epidemic in New York, USA. Last year, during the Corona epidemic, a loan of about five and half lakh dollars (Tk. 4,48,74,000 in Bangladeshi currency) was taken from Bengal and Golden Age Home Care (Which is fully refundable and waived). Partho Gupta, a business partner, has been looking for a loan account last six months. Shah Nawaz was making excuses without giving accurate account of PPP loan. He took a different approach to not giving the share of the loan to the partner. In order to stay away from the partnership account, Shah Nawaz cleverly complained to the police about the loss of life by Perth Gupta.
According to a reliable source, several years ago, New York expatriate insurance businessman Shah Nawaz and Partho Gupta, a well-known face instrument player (keyboard player) in the New York cultural arena, jointly started a home care business. President and CEO Shah Nawaz separately applied for a Pay-Check Protection Program (PPP) loan for Bengal and Golden Age Home Care after the business suffered some losses during the Corona epidemic in 2020. Following the application, on 19 and 21 May 2020, Cross River Bank approved a loan of 5 lakh 24 thousand 729 dollars for two businesses. Shah Nawaz hesitated to give an accurate account of the loan to other partners. He has been at loggerheads with Partho Gupta for the past six months. Late last September, Shah Nawaz complained to New York police that Partho was threatening him in various ways. He appealed to the police for his safety. The docket number of the case is ‘CR-020560-21QN’. Police in the Northern Boulevard-115 area of Jackson Heights in the New York City Police Department called Partho on Monday evening (October 4) for questioning. He was detained at the police station after interrogation.
The next day, on Tuesday (October 5), a Criminal Court judge granted Partho’s bail. The court also directed to maintain distance from the plaintiff Shah Nawaz. The next hearing of the case has been fixed for January 20.
Shah Nawaz, the plaintiff in the case, told local reporters that Partho Gupta had been threatening him and his family for a long time. The last time he made a death threat. He then filed the case with the evidence.Two weeks ago, he appealed for protection from Partho Gupta at the local New York Police Present-115. Later an intelligence officer named Skyle investigated the matter and called him to come to Police Precinct-115.
Partho went to Precinct-115 at the call of the police and after interrogation he was detained overnight.
