Bangladeshi Shah Halim received President’s Award in USA

Staff Reporter: Shah Halim, former chairman of the Bangladesh Association of Houston in the US state of Texas, has received the President’s Lifetime Achievement Award this year. Expatriate Bangladeshis, including the organization, have congratulated him on his achievement.

For the past 25 years, Shah Halim has been working as a member of the Bangladesh Association of Houston, leaving a strong role and contribution. He has been the Chairperson of the Bangladesh Association for six years and has been instrumental in establishing the Bangladesh-America Center.
He has also been working with various social welfare organizations, including local mainstream organizations, for over 20 years. He has contributed to various social welfare activities by joining various organizations including the said organization. He has contributed to many mainstream organizations, including social development activities, human rights activities, social justice, etc. Not only that, he was closely associated with the local church. He has led Fobana, the largest expatriate organization in North America, for 15 years and has been Fobana’s Chairperson since 2020 and has been instrumental in raising funds for the victims of the Covid-19 epidemic in North America and Bangladesh.
Shah Halim, a resident of Gopalganj, Bangladesh, went to the United States to pursue his dream of higher education. His father late Shah Abdul Halim, was a social worker and community leader and former vice president, BGMEA. Halim’s family played a key role in the 1971 war of independence, and many of his ancestors have held important positions in government.
Shah Halim has made us all proud through his various activities and especially by receiving this prestigious President’s Lifetime Award.
