Staff Reporter: The new committee of Federation of Bangladeshi Associations in North America (FOBANA) has been announced. Rehan Reza (Kansas) is the chairperson and Masud Rob Chowdhury (California) is the member secretary of the new one-year committee. The election was held last Sunday (November 28) at Fobana’s 2021 annual general meeting in the conference room of the Gaylord Convention Center in Maryland. According to the Election Commissioners, the Electronic Voting was carried out in a very efficient manner under the direction of the Election Commissioner and the election was conducted democratically following the full rules.The other members of the Executive Committee of the Federation of Bangladeshi Associations in North America (FOBANA) elected for 2021-2022 are: Vice Chairman Mohammad Dilu Maula (Georgia), Joint Executive Secretary Nahidul Khan Sahel (Georgia) and Treasurer Dr. Mohammed Ali Manik (Georgia).
Outstanding members are: Zakaria Chowdhury (New York), G. I. Russell (Virginia), Nurul Amin (Virginia), Atiqur Rahman (Florida), Mohammad M. Zahir Rahman Zahir (Florida), Dr. Zainul Abedin (California), Shah Halim (Texas), Bedarul Islam Babla (New York), Mohammad M. Arefin Babul(Georgia).
The 17 representative organizations selected are Bangladesh Association of Chicagoland (Illinois), Bangladesh Association of North Texas (Texas), Bangladesh Association of (New Jersey), Friends and Family Inc. (Virginia), Bangladhara (Georgia) , Bangladesh Association (Houston, Texas), Bangla Foundation (Texas), Bangladesh Association of America (BY, DC), Bangladesh American Society of Greater Houston (Texas), Map Foundation (Georgia), Priyabangla (Virginia), Bangladesh American Association of Georgia (Georgia), Bangladesh American Women’s Association of Texas (Texas), Bangladesh American Association of Greater Washington DC (DC), Shatdal Inc. (New Jersey), Bangladesh Youth Association of Texas (Texas).
The hosting organization of the 2022 Fobana Conference is the Bangladesh Association of Chicagoland (Chicago, Illinois) and the hosting organization of the 2023 Fobana Conference is the Bangladesh Association of North Texas (Texas).
The acting election commissioners are: Chief Election Commissioner Mahbub Reza Rahim, Election Commissioner Rabiul Karim and Election Commissioner Jinat Nabi.
