Staff Reporter: An ex-boyfriend and his wife have blocked the delivery of food ordered by a Bangladeshi mother and child at a restaurant in the US state of Connecticut. A helpless expatriate woman has complained to the police about this. The incident took place at Roti Boti restaurant in Meriden town on Wednesday night (December 1) local time. After reporting the incident to the police, the police rushed to the spot and found out the truth of the incident.

It is learned that Srabani Singh, a Bangladeshi Certified Public Accountant living in Connecticut, ordered dinner for the child and himself at Roti Boti Restaurant in Meriden on Wednesday, December 1. Later, when she went to the restaurant to fetch the food, she saw her ex-boyfriend Nurul Alam alias Nuru, a Bangladeshi businessman from Connecticut and newly elected president of the Bangladeshi American Association of Connecticut (BAAC), and his wife. She called the restaurant and asked her to bring the food to his car in the parking lot. In this situation, they were very excited to see Srabani Singh. At one stage, Nurul Alam alias Nuru’s wife Selina Aktar got angry like a in oil brinjal and started abusing Srabani in vulgar language. The two of them dropped a packet of food items they had ordered from the restaurant counter on the floor. She was not allowed to provide any food. At this time they started shouting ‘No food for her, no food for her’. As a result, her five-year-old son became terrified. Frightened, Srabani first called the police on 911 on an emergency basis. She then called several Bangladeshis and immediately informed them about the matter and sought their help. On that day, no one came to the side of helpless Srabani to respond to her call. The next day, on Thursday (December 2), Srabani Singh collected a police report and applied to the Meriden Superior Court for a restraining order against abuse. She went to court alone without the help of a lawyer and submitted a petition in her own handwriting. The wise court took cognizance of this and fixed the date of hearing on December 10.
Even then Srabani was suffering from discomfort, so the next day she went to court again. She went to the court and sought a restraining order against the abusive Nurul Alam alias Nuru’s wife for getting rid of another abuse. Srabani Singh told this correspondent that the wise court had granted it immediately.
On the other hand, Nurul Alam alias Nuru was contacted via text message on the same day to get the correct information about the incident but he did not reply.
It is worth mentioning that after hearing the name of Bangladeshi American Association of Connecticut (BAAC), Srabani came to Connecticut for the first time in 2018 with her two children in search of a job. Former president Srabani was introduced to Baac’s vice-president Nurul Alam alias Nuru.

Srabani and Nurul Alam were both born in Chattogram, Bangladesh. Srabani handed over her passport and resume to the former president and Nuru to confirm her identity and educational qualifications. Nurul Alam immediately promised to help Srabani and on the same day made all arrangements for Srabani to file custody of the child in Middletown Family Court. Nurul Alam arranged for Srabani to stay at his Middletown home.

On October 30, 2018, she got a job letter for the job and promised to marry Srabani. Gradually he fell in love with Srabani. He fell in love with her for a long time by showing greed for marriage. At one point, she even arranged for Srabani to divorce her Canadian husband. When the incident became known, Srabani was taken out of the rented house with a small child in a cloth. Srabani, desperate for help with small children, sought help from various people in Connecticut. Even though no one helped her much, She has become self-reliant. Doing a job alone caring for a small child. She does not want to mix with anyone. But Srabani has been suffering from mental anguish since the leader of the society, the uncivilized people, snatched dinner for her and her child at a Roti Boti restaurant in Meriden on Wednesday, December 1.
