Staff Reporter: Cabinet Secretary to the Government of Bangladesh Khandaker Anwarul Islam visited the Bangladesh Consulate General in New York. He was welcomed by Acting Consul General SM Nazmul Hasan and other officials and staff of the Consulate on Monday (December 6).
During the exchange of views with the officials and staff of the Consulate, the Cabinet Secretary suggested that all activities of the Consulate be fully modernized or digitized.
During the discussion, he also emphasized on the purchase of the Consulate’s own building for the convenience of the consular service recipients and for providing more services.
Acting Consul General SM Nazmul Hasan presented various activities of the Consulate to the Cabinet Secretary. Later, the Cabinet Secretary visited various consular service activities of the Consulate and spoke to the consular service seekers.
The Cabinet Secretary expressed satisfaction over the overall functioning of the Consulate and requested the Consulate officials to continue this trend in future. His wife, former government secretary Mrs. Kamrun Nahar, was also present during the visit. Acting Consul General SM Nazmul Hasan thanked the Cabinet Secretary for the visit to the Consulate.
