Staff Reporter: Bangladeshi engineer Nazmul Ahsan Babul was killed in a bus accident in New York, USA. He was rushed to the local Elmhurst Hospital on Tuesday (December 21) at around 7:30 pm local time after being hit by a city bus on the road between 73rd Street and Broadway in the busy area of Jackson Heights. He died there at around 11.45 pm.
Leaders of the Magura District Association in the United States said Nazmul Ahsan Babul had been living in New York for a long time with his family. He has been elected the president of Magura District Association this year. He was an engineer by profession and also the governor of the Lions Club. It is known that he was involved in various social activities in exile. His country home is in Magura district. The sudden death of Nazmul Ahsan Babul has cast a shadow of mourning among the Bangladeshis living in New York. Various social, cultural and political leaders have expressed deep grief over his death.
