One more shot dead in New York again

Staff Reporter: One more murder have occurred in New York in the space of two days. Miscreants shot and killed a man inside the Astoria Houses NYCHA complex on Friday (February 11) morning. Police said the 34-year-old man was shot in the chest at around 1:15 am. Upon receiving the news, police rushed to the scene, rescued the injured man from the third-floor hallway of the building and took him to New York-Presbyterian / Well Cornell Medical Center. Upon arrival, doctors pronounced him dead. Police has not been disclosed the name of deceased.
Police said the man had been arrested 25 times before. He was arrested in 2013 for assaulting a police officer.

According to the New York Daily News, the deceased was a member of a gang called ‘Dream Team’. However, a police spokesman could not confirm the matter.

No arrests have been made in Friday night’s shooting, and an investigation is under way. A police spokesman had no further information on the incident at the press conference.

The killings are on the rise between the 114th police precinct in Astoria and Roosevelt Island.
Modassar Khandaker (36) an expatriate Bangladeshi, was shot dead by gunmen on February 9 near the Queens and Brooklyn border in New York. The killings took place near the junction of Forbel Street and Glenmore Avenue in Brooklyn’s Cypress Hills.
Modassar, who was shot by gunmen, was rushed to a local Jamaica hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead. An unidentified gunman shot him in the head as he parked his Honda CVR in a park near his home on his way home from work in Modassar. He was later taken to a Jamaican hospital by ambulance, where doctors pronounced him dead.
According to the New York Police Department, there were two homicides in 2019, seven in 2020 and 10 in 2021. To suppress illegal guns and big crimes Mayor Eric Adams is reportedly deploying plain-clothes police units across the city this month.
