Staff Reporter: Foreign Minister A K Abdul Momen, MP visited Bangladesh Consulate General, New York. He visited local time on Monday (February 28) and witnessed various types of consular services. Consul General Dr. Mohammad Monirul Islam and other officials and staff welcomed him at the consulate.
During the exchange of views with the officials and staff of the Consulate, the Minister directed to ensure improved consular services and overall welfare of the expatriates and emphasized on providing services to the expatriates with utmost sincerity to uphold the policy of expatriate friendly government. During this time, he spoke to the consular service seekers and members of the community visiting the consulate and exchanged greetings with them. He called each of the expatriates as goodwill ambassadors of Bangladesh in foreign lands and thanked them for their important role in enhancing the dignity and image of the country.
He expressed satisfaction over the overall service activities of the Consulate.
He further said that under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the worthy daughter of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the father of the greatest Bengali nation of all time, Bangladesh today is advancing in all indicators of socio-economic development. He called upon all to take this achievement and progress to foreign lands. He also stressed the need to purchase the consulate’s own building.
It is to be noted that theForeign Minister is currently visiting New York to attend an important meeting of the United Nations.
