Noman Ibne Sabit:The Bangladesh Embassy has earned $ 48,000 US dollars for a three-day mobile consular service in Dallas,Texas, USA
The Embassy of Bangladesh in Washington, DC held a mobile consular camp in Dallas, Texas on 10-12 June 2022 with the support of Bangladesh Association of North Texas (BANT) and Bangladeshi Expatriate Society of Texas (BEST).
As many as 897 people were provided services in the three-day camp, and USD 47,932.50 was earned as government revenue. It is the highest turnout and revenue earning in any mobile consular camp organized by the Embassy this year.
In the mobile consular camps, services like the issuance of NVR (No Visa Required for travel to Bangladesh), execution of Power of Attorney and Attestation were delivered instantly, while the applications for Dual Nationality Certificate (DNC) and Birth Registration Certificate (BRC) were received for further processing.
As the impact of Covid-19 pandemic abated, Bangladesh Embassy in Washington, DC resumed mobile consular service in April, 2022. In the last two months, mobile consular services have been provided in five cities, namely Philadelphia, Atlanta, Houston, Chicago and Dallas. A total of 3291 applicants received services in these consular camps; and the revenue earning amounted to USD 1,72,453.50.
The Embassy will continue to hold mobile consular camps in different cities at regular intervals in order to take consular services to the doorsteps of Bangladeshi communities.
