Bangla Press Desk: Authorities on Tuesday announced the closure of Dhaka City College for two days – Wednesday and Thursday – following a clash between students of this college and those of Dhaka College near the Science Laboratory intersection in the capital.

Acting Principal of the City College FM Mobarak Hossain announced the closure.

Earlier in the day, students of both colleges engaged in a clash leaving five of them injured. All the injured were taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) for treatment.

A Dhaka College student claimed, “Some students from the City College attacked our classmates yesterday (Monday), leading to today’s clash.”

Of them, one named Shamim sustained a critical stab to his waist, caused by a sharp weapon. He is currently in a critical condition, he said citing doctors.
