Bangla Press Desk: Asif Mahmud Shajib Bhuiyan, an adviser to the interim government, has said that he has not yet decided to resign from his post, but will do so at a convenient time to join a political party.

“I haven’t taken any decision to resign yet. I will actively join politics, leaving the job at my convenient time,” Asif, also a key coordinator of the Student Against Discrimination, wrote on his verified Facebook page on Saturday.

Asif, currently serving as Sports and LGRD advisers, said that he has no obligation to join the student-formed new political party, National Citizen Party (NCP).

“I will choose the best option at an appropriate time for the betterment of the nation and the people,” said the former president of Bangladesh, Sadharon Chhatra Odhikar Songrokkhon Parishad of Dhaka University unit.

Earlier in the day, he was talking to reporters after inspecting a recruitment test held at Sher-e-Bangla Agriculture University in Dhaka.

Responding to a query, he said his secretary has quit the job following all official procedures, but some ‘power house’ media offices published reports targeting him with an ill motive. Source: DS
