Bangla Press Desk: BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has said that political parties should have been consulted regarding the provision of a humanitarian corridor for Myanmar’s civilians.
Claiming that this was a unilateral decision by the interim government, he said, “We do not want to become another Gaza. We do not want to be dragged into a war. We do not want others to come here and create unrest. We are already facing problems with the Rohingyas.”
He made these remarks on Monday afternoon while speaking during a mass contact programme in the Sheikh Bazar area of Jagannathpur Union under Thakurgaon Sadar upazila.
The BNP Secretary General further said that they have no objection to providing humanitarian assistance on an ethnic basis. “If the BNP assumes power in future, its top priority would be employment generation,” he said.
