Bangla Press Desk: Referring to the tense situation between India and Pakistan over the Kashmir attack, Chief Adviser Prof Mohammad Yunus has categorically said that he does not support war anywhere in the world.
“I have a strong objection to war. I don’t support war indeed,” said the chief adviser after visiting the Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) Base Bir Uttam A K Khandker in Dhaka on Wednesday to observe a military exercise and address air force personnel.
Sensing danger over the war-like situation, Yunus said, “We live in a world where the threat of war surrounds us always. We must be prepared in this context, otherwise it will be suicidal for us.”
“I witnessed a report, maybe false, this morning that a war is likely to begin today. So our preparation is a must, but there is no space for a half-hearted preparation,” said the chief adviser.
The government is extending its all-out support to the BAF to equip it with ultramodern technology in a bid to improve the professional capacity of the forces, he said.
“We will have to rebuild a developed and strengthened country,” said the chief adviser during his speech at the function.
Regarding the overall situation, Yunus said the defeated Awami League government has ruined the country’s economic backbone.
