BNP files complaint against Hasina with ICT

Bangla Press Desk : The BNP lodged a complaint with the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) on Sunday accusing 35 individuals, including ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina, of their alleged involvement in enforced disappearance during her regime.

Flanked by the victims of enforced disappearance, BNP National Executive Committee member Salahuddin Khan submitted the complaint to the Chief Prosecutor’s Office.

In the complaint, 16 names, including Hasina, former home minister Asaduzzaman Khan, law minister Anisul Huq, inspector general of police Benazir Ahmed, and members of the Army and the Rapid Action Battalion, and 19 unnamed individuals were cited as accused.

The allegation mentioned the involvement of the accused in 11 incidents of enforced disappearances which took place between 2019 and the time the Awami League government was removed from power.

Chief Prosecutor Mohammad Tajul Islam assured that proper legal steps would be taken upon completion of the investigation.
