Bangla Press Desk: BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia is likely to go to the UK again after her doctors advised her to undergo further medical tests in London.

It was not immediately clear whether her health conditions have deteriorated, but a few days back she underwent some urgent late-night medical tests at a Dhaka hospital.

BNP leaders are seeking the foreign ministry’s support for arranging Khaleda’s foreign travel, party insiders told the Daily Sun.

There is also a high probability that this time she would return to the country with her son and BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman.

On Thursday past midnight, her medical team advised urgent medical tests for her at the Evercare Hospital in Dhaka. She stayed there for just about 40 minutes.

On 6 May, she returned to the country after receiving four months of medical treatment in London. She was accompanied by her two daughter-in-laws, including Zubaida Rahman, the wife of Tarique.

Zubaida could return home after spending 17 years in exile in London due to the ouster of fascist Awami League regime in August last year.

Khaleda has been suffering with multiple health issues for a long time, and her conditions worsened particularly due to the fascist policies of Awami League government, which rejected repeated requests for allowing her advanced treatment abroad. The government also rejected BNP’s pleas for letting her get treatment at Evercare Hospital.  This article was originally published on Daily Sun.
