Staff Reporter: The sudden death of Taiyabur Rahman Tony, an expatriate Awami League leader in the United States, has cast a shadow of mourning over the United States Awami League family. He died at his residence in Dhaka’s Jigatala on Sunday (October 25), New York local time. When his friends could not find him they informed the police. Later the police broke down the door of the house and recovered his body. The exact cause of his death is not yet known. Monirul Haque a friend of the late Tony and owner of Ananya a Bangladeshi publishing house confirmed his death.
Taiyabur Rahman Tony was the former Deputy Publicity Secretary of the United States Awami League and the General Secretary of the Moralganj Upazila Samiti. He did not return to the United States after the Corona epidemic. The news of the death of Taiyabur Rahman Tony quickly spread in the United States, casting a shadow of mourning over the Awami League family.
Former US Awami League President Siddiqur Rahman and former Acting General Secretary Abdus Samad Azad, former GS of Baksu and Awami League leader Muktijoddha Dr.Pradeep Ranjan Kar, former office secretary Mohammad Ali Siddiquee and former international secretary of the Central Committee of the Volunteer League Shakhawat Biswas in a separate statement conveyed their condolences to the bereaved family and wished for the forgiveness of the departed soul of Taiyabur Rahman Tony.
Meanwhile, the leaders of Moralganj Upazila Samity have also expressed deep grief over the death of Taiyabur Rahman Tony.
