Staff Reporter: A father and son have died of coronavirus in New York, USA. Engineer Khairuzzaman and his son Abul Bashar Panna died at a New York hospital just three hours apart on Saturday (December 19th) morning local time. They were hospitalized with a second wave of coronavirus.
Engineers Khairuzzaman and Abul Bashar Panna, who live in Lane No. 8, Block A, Halishahar, Sandeep, Chattogram have been living in Brooklyn, New York for a long time. The news of the death of the father and son has cast a shadow of mourning among the expatriates in the United States.
The United States has the highest number of coronavirus outbreaks and deaths in the world. The death toll from the corona in the country has crossed three lakh earlier this week.
Meanwhile, at least 12 Bangladeshis, including a doctor and an engineer, have died in the second wave of corona in the United States in less than a month. Hundreds are being treated at the hospital and at home. They are all residents of New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Michigan, California, Florida, Virginia, Maryland and Washington DC.
