Staff Reporter: New England Awami League in the US state of Massachusetts has demanded the establishment of a memorial sculpture of Bangabandhu in Dhaka. The demand was made by the leaders and workers of New England Awami League in a virtual meeting of Victory Day last Sunday.
Speakers at the meeting said that a conspiracy has been started to destroy the history and heritage of independence by creating obstacles in the development of Bangladesh through the rise of fundamentalism. They demanded to break the poisonous teeth of the fundamentalists engaged in implementing the BNP-Jamaat agenda behind the custody to show their vision of breaking the sculpture of Bangabandhu and declared to resist them everywhere.
The speakers further said that whenever I go to the country, I always forget about the development activities of the country. The construction of the Padma Bridge with its own funds has further brightened the image of Bangladesh in the world. He expressed deep gratitude for the contribution of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the continuous development of the country and mentioned that Sheikh Hasina has no alternative in the country. They wished Sheikh Hasina a long life and called upon her to strengthen her hand for the uninterrupted welfare of the country and the people.
The speakers said that as a result of being in the ministry for a long time after getting the ministry as soon as he became the new MP, a minister from Chattogram has started communal violence against minorities in the interest of the individual. They also demanded to stop the misdeeds of the minister.
The meeting was presided by film director and Awami League leader Nurul Haque Bachchu and Performance by former general secretary Suhas Barua. Former president of the organization Osman Gani, former president of Bangladesh Association of New England Shaheen Khan, president of New England ghatak dalal nirmul committee Mahfuzur Rahman, former senior Vice-President Biswajit Saha, Bir Muktijoddha AKM Abdul Wahidi, Bir Muktijoddha Firoz Khan Ananda, General Secretary of Mahila Awami League Misha Rahman, Singer and cultural organizer Mahitosh Pal Taposh, Morsheda Khatun, Awami League leaders Nur Hossain, Mohammad Lokman, Zahidul Islam Apu, Tipu Chowdhury, Anupam Dev, Abdul Ahad, BM Azad, Nazrul Qaderi, Shahidul Islam Rony, Robin Das Sechchasebak League leader MA Jalil, Juba League leader Sirajum Munir, Saikat Khan, Mohammad Shahid, Sabuj Barua, Dipan Barua and Chhatra League leader Sajjad Hossain among others addressed the meeting.
