Banglapress Desk: People in different parts of the country are suffering from extreme cold due to intensification of winter across the country. Blankets have been distributed among the cold-stricken people in Sadar upazila of Sherpur district to help cold-stricken people. Last Saturday (January 16), blankets were distributed among more than two hundred extremely poor people in Balaiyer Char Union No. 11 of Sadar Upazila at the initiative of Sadek Ali Foundation in Sherpur.
It is learned that more than two hundred cold helpless people from Uttar Para, Dakshin Para, Paschim Para, Madhyapara and Mollah Bari areas of Char Jangaldi village of Balaiyer Char Union have received blankets from Sadek Ali Foundation.
Acting Chairman of Sadeq Ali Foundation Muhammad Abdul Karim, Director Saiful Huda Peter, Director Md. Harun ur Rashid, Social Worker Abdus Samad Azad, Student Leader Mehedi Hasan Joy, Md. Parvez Mia, Jahangir Alam, Rezaul Karim Rifat and other local dignitaries were present on the occasion.
Muhammad Abdul Karim, Acting Chairman of Sadeq Ali Foundation said, “It is the moral and social responsibility of all of us to stand by the helpless and cold people in winter. Everyone in the society should stand by the side of these helpless people with great vows in human service.
New York expatriate journalist Md. Abul Kashem founded the foundation in 2015 name of his father late Sadeq Ali. The bank has a permanent FDR in the name of the foundation. From the profits of the FDR, Char Jangaldi Rahetun Nesa High School has been providing one-time scholarships to first place students from class 5th to class 10th every year.
It has also been providing cash assistance from the foundation’s own funds without the cooperation of any other person or organization during any natural calamity. The Sadeq Ali Foundation provided cash assistance to hundreds of people on the eve of Eid al-Fitr, the holy month of Ramadan, during the global Corona epidemic in April last year.
