Staff Reporter: Bangladesh Army Chief General Aziz Ahmed will pay a state visit to the United States on Friday (January 29). He is coming on a visit at the invitation of the country’s army chief.
During his visit to the United States, he will hold talks at the Office of the Secretary of Defense for Policy South and Southeast Asia on regional defense and bilateral military cooperation. He will also attend courtesy meetings and discussions with the US Army Chief of Staff, including inspecting various military installations and training facilities.
During the meeting, he will discuss in detail the strengthening of relations between the two countries’ armies and mutual cooperation. During his stay in the United States, the Bangladesh Army Chief will also exchange views with the Military Advisors and Under Secretary Generals of the United Nations Peacekeeping Missions. The visit will play an important role in increasing the number of Bangladeshi members in UN peacekeeping missions, conducting various peacekeeping missions efficiently and increasing Bangladesh’s representation at the policy-making level. After the visit, the Army Chief will return to Bangladesh on February 12.
