Staff Reporter: A Bangladeshi youth has mysteriously died in New York, USA. New York police on Saturday (January 30th) recovered the body of a young man named Jimam Chowdhury, 21, from his locked house on Hillside Avenue in Jamaica.
On Saturday (January 30) evening, Jimam’s friends knocked on his door several times. They did not find him on his mobile phone and informed the police. Police later recovered the body from the house.
In December last year, Jimam Chowdhury went to Bangladesh with his parents. Last Wednesday (January 27), Jimam returned to New York alone. Family friends brought him home from JFK International Airport. Jimam was with the family on Wednesday night. The next day, on Thursday (January 28) evening, they delivered Jimam to his home on Hillside Avenue in Jamaica.
No one was reported to have contacted Jimam in New York on Friday. On Saturday afternoon, Jimam’s friend came to the house and shouted but got no response. Later, they entered the Jimama’s room with the help of people on the ground floor of the same house. The matter was immediately reported to the police after seeing Jimam’s lifeless body at around 4 pm. The police came to the spot and recovered Jimam’s body and took it to the hospital for medical examination. The exact cause of Jimma’s death is not yet known.
Jimam is the only son of Z Chowdhury Jewel, former general secretary of the Jalalabad Association in New York. Z Chowdhury Jewel and his family members are now in Bangladesh. Their country home is Sylhet city.
