Bangladesh Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen praised the US expatriates as soon as they landed at John F. Kennedy Airport in New York. Arriving in New York on a seven-day official visit on Sunday, local time, he learned that Bangladesh’s name was not included in the US Corona Vaccine Distribution List, with several people lobbying for it. Hearing this news, the Foreign Minister thanked the expatriates.
Expressing warm greetings to the Foreign Minister at the airport, expatriate doctor Masudul Hasan said that after receiving information that Bangladesh’s name was not included in the US Corona Vaccine Distribution List, they met with US Vice President Kamala Harris several miles away and included Bangladesh in the Vaccine Distribution List. Expatriates are hoping that Bangladesh will get one million Corona vaccines by the last week of June this year. When Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen was informed about this, he thanked the expatriates for this commendable initiative.

AK Abdul Momen said, “Especially what we have asked, at least for the 1.5 million people who took the first dose of vaccines, the United States should give them the vaccines.” So that they can take the second dose of vaccine.
Arriving in New York on a seven-day official visit, he was welcomed by Shahidul Islam, Bangladesh’s Ambassador to Washington, and Rabab Fatima, Bangladesh’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations. During the visit, the Foreign Minister will take part in two separate meetings on the Rohingya issue and the Least Developed Countries at the UN headquarters. The Foreign Minister is also scheduled to hold a meeting with the UN Secretary General.
It is unknown at this time whether the foreign minister will visit the Bangladeshi-owned Innovative Global University in Virginia during his current visit. In February this year, he paid a state visit to the United States and officially inaugurated the Bangladeshi-owned Innovative Global University in Virginia on February 27. Although Corona did not meet directly with a U.S. public representative to observe the hygiene rules, he ignored the hygiene rules and inaugurated the university on Saturday in a crowdless crowd. At that time the issue was discussed among the expatriates.
