Staff Reporter: Land Minister Saifuzzaman Chowdhury has visited the Bangladesh Consulate General in New York. He visited the Bangladesh Consulate General, New York on Thursday (July 1) local time. He was welcomed by Consul General Sadia Faizunnesa and other officials and staff of the Consulate.
While exchanging views with the officials and staff of the Consulate, the Minister said that under the able leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Bangladesh is moving forward towards its rightful goal by achieving overall prosperity. On the occasion of the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the golden jubilee of independence, the Land Minister called upon all to come forward for the establishment of Bangabandhu’s dream ‘Golden Bengal’.
He further said that expatriates are playing an important role in improving the country’s economy as well as enhancing the image of Bangladesh in foreign lands. He urged the expatriates to invest more in the economic zones of the country.
Consul General Sadia Faizunnesa briefed the Minister on the various activities of the Consulate and highlighted the activities of the Consulate through a PowerPoint presentation. The Minister later inspected the various consular service activities of the Consulate and spoke to the consular service seekers.
Land Minister expressed satisfaction over the overall functioning of the Consulate and requested the Consulate officials to continue this trend in future. Consul General Sadia Faizunnesa thanked the Land Minister for the visit to the Consulate.
