Gorgeous ‘Bangladesh Fair’ in Atlantic City, New Jerse

Staff Reporter : The Bangladesh Fair was organized by the Bangladesh Association of South Jersey last Tuesday (July 27) in Atlantic City, New Jersey, USA. At the center of the fair, St. Castle Stadium in Atlantic City became a festive place for Bangladeshis. The Bangladesh Mela in Atlantic City is full of joy for the Bangladeshis living in South Jersey like the Boishakhi Mela of Ramna Batmul in Chittagong or the volleyball game of Laldighi in Chittagong. The school-college children living in South Jersey came to taste the native culture while sitting abroad. Meanwhile, President of Bangladesh Association of South Jersey Zahirul Islam Babul and General Secretary Zakirul Islam Khoka said that their organization plays an important role in the development of Bangladesh Community Center just as it entertains the expatriates by organizing a beautiful fair. Zahirul Islam Babul also said that the money earned from this fair will be used for the development of Bangladesh Community Center like in 2016. The fair will also create an opportunity for the mainstream politicians of the United States to get acquainted with the culture and culture of Bangladesh. Fazlul Quader was present as the chief guest of the fair. The convener of this year’s fair was Ghiyasuddin Pathan and Member Secretary Md. Ayub.

The chief guest Fazlul Quader inaugurated the fair by performing the national anthems of Bangladesh and the United States at 7 pm. After that, the leaders of the main stream of the United States gave speeches.
The fair had a variety of shops including food and clothing and raffle draws. Popular Bangladeshi musicians Baby Nazneen, Shah Mahbub, Naju Akand and Mumu performed in the cultural program. The organizers of the fair said that the fair is being organized with the aim of introducing the indigenous art and culture to the new generation, especially the youth.
