Staff Reporter: The Lions Cricket Club (LLC) defeated West Hartford Kings (WHK) by 65 runs in the BAFFC’s New England T-20 Gold Cup Cricket Tournament on Saturday. The fourth match of the third day was played at 10:30 am on Saturday (August 21) at the Robertson Elementary School ground in the town of Manchester, Connecticut. The Bangladeshi American Friends and Family of Connecticut (BAFFC) hosted the New England T-20 Gold Cup Cricket Tournament.
West Hartford Kings (WHK) won the toss and elected to field first. The batting team Lions Cricket Club (LLC) batted first and scored 163 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 20 overs. Atiq is the greatest player of the team with 47 runs at 4 sixes and 2 fours.
Ehtesham scored 31 runs through 3 sixes and 1four and Khalid scored 30 runs through 2 sixes.
On the other hand, West Hartford Kings (WHK) went down to bat in the second innings and were all out for 96 in 14.3 overs. Sayed Khan scored the highest 24 runs. Raja took 4 wickets for 23 runs and Hanif took 3 wickets for 13 runs.
Engineer Amiruzzaman Tutul and Dr. Tamim Ahmed were the umpires in the third day’s game.The third umpires / scorers were Harun Ahmed, Chowdhury Haider Tarek, Mollah Bahauddin Pial, Engineer Moinul Islam, Shariful Ahsan Helal and Yasin.
