Staff Reporter: The expatriate Hindu community has staged an exceptional protest in New York’s Time Square demanding the release of all minorities detained under the Digital Security Act, including Jhumon Das. Leaders and activists of about a dozen organizations protested against the persecution of minorities in Bangladesh by chanting Harinam at the Time Square premises on Friday (September 3) afternoon.
Organized by the United States Hindu Coalition, the exceptional gathering was attended by the United States Hindu Buddhist Christian Unity Parishad, Fellows of BJP, Mahamaya Temple, Sri Krishna Bhakta Sangha, Sri Krishna Bhakta Sangha (Bronx), Radhamadhav Temple, Gournitai Temple, Bronx Worship Committee, New Eyes About a hundred devotees from the Puja Celebration Council and the Global Bengali Hindu Coalition took part.
Among others Shitangshu Guha, Nitai Bagchi, Govinda Bania, Dinesh Majumder, Prakash Gupta, Deepak Das, Sukant Das Tutul, Ranbir Barua, Dr. Prabhat Das, Ashish Bhowmik, Ramesh Nath, Dwijen Bhattacharya, Gitapathak, among others addressed the gathering. Das, Sushil Singha, Sushil Saha, Pradeep Kund, Pradeep Bhattacharya, Vishnu Gop, Ranjit Saha President Mahamaya Mandir, Ruma Bhowmik, Savitri Saha, Kumar Babul Saha, Biswajit Chakraborty, Tarun Saha, Tapan Sen and others.
At the rally, the speakers demanded the unconditional release of Jhuman Das.
They called on the Prime Minister to immediately release all minorities detained under the Digital Security Act. The rally demanded immediate action to stop communal terrorism. They called on the government to accept the various demands of the minorities.
‘Save Hindus in Bangladesh’ at the rally; ‘Stop Temple and Deity Destruction’; ‘Stop Forceful Convention to Islam’; Ramu, along with ‘Free Zhuoman Das’, carried placards of minority torture from Nasirnagar at different times.
