Protest of Hindu community in front of UN Bangladesh Mission

Staff Reporter: After receiving the Qur’an in a puja mandap in Comilla, the expatriate Hindu community has staged a protest in front of the Bangladesh Mission to the United Nation and Consulate in New York at the initiative of the Bangladesh Sanatani Sangsad in protest of the attack on temples and puja mandaps in different parts of the country including Dhaka, Comilla, Feni, Kishoreganj. Hundreds of members of various organizations of the expatriate Hindu community gathered at the protest rally on Monday (October 18) local time. They also handed over memorandum to Bangladesh Mission officials demanding an immediate end to Hindu torture and police harassment in the country.

Puja Celebration Parishad, Om Shakti Mandir, Matua Harinam Mandir, Hindu Buddhist Christian Unity Parishad, Gaur-Nitai Mandir, Sarvajanin Puja Utjapan Parishad and Mahamaya Mandir took part in the gathering.

Speakers at the meeting said that irrespective of caste, creed and creed, we have to stand up against the miscreants with the spirit of liberation war. Bangladesh’s status in the world has been tarnished, a statement has also come from the United Nations to protect the minorities. We never wanted such a Bangladesh. Nabendu Dutta, Shitangshu Guha, Bidyut Sarkar, Bhajan Sarkar, Shyamal Dhar, Ashish Bhowmik and Prabir Roy addressed the meeting.
