Brothers of the Razakars and Shibir activists wish the Minister of Liberation War Affairs differently!
Liberation War Affairs Minister Bir Muktijoddha A.K.M Mozammel Haque, who came to the United States to attend the 35th Conference of the Traditional Federation of Bangladeshi Associations in North America (FOBANA), known as the Reunion of Bangladeshi Expatriates. The expatriate heroic freedom fighters were outraged when Minister Mozammel Haque was greeted by Razakar’s brother and former Shibir activist. They have condemned the heinous act of blaming the Fobana authorities.
The three-day ‘Federation of Bangladeshi Association in North America’ (FOBANA) conference in Maryland, USA, which started last Friday (November 26), ended at midnight on Sunday (November 28) with complete failure.
The chief guest to attend the 35th Fobana Conference was the Minister for Liberation War Affairs, Bir Muktijoddha A. K. M. Mozammel Haque when arrived in Washington DC, he was greeted by Fobana Conference Chairman Zakaria Chowdhury, Convener GI Russell and Member Secretary Shibbir Ahmed. Among them was Fobana Conference chairman and alleged Awami League leader Zakaria Chowdhury, brother of the infamous Razakar Bahadur Bepari of Feni and member secretary Shibbir Ahmed, a former Shibir activist from Comilla’s Laksam upazila. He is currently the leader of the so-called Awami League in Metro Washington, USA. The heroic freedom fighters in the United States, including the metro Washington (Washington DC, Virginia and Maryland) area, have reacted angrily to the infamous Razakar’s brother Zakaria Chowdhury and member secretary, former Shibir activist Shibbir Ahmed’s unwitting greetings to Liberation War Affairs Minister Bir Muktijoddha A.K. M Mozammel Haque.
It is known that in 2020 the Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen when visited the United States, he was met by chairman of the conference Zakaria Chowdhury, convener, GI Russell, and member secretary, Shibbir Ahmed. This Tri-ratna went to Dhaka a month ago and tried hard to import manpower (Adam). At the time, chairman of the conference, Feni’s infamous Razakar’s brother Zakaria Chowdhury tries to make friends with Affairs Minister Bir Muktijoddha A. K. M. Mozammel Haque. At one point they decided to make the Minister of State the chief guest at the Fobana Conference. The reason for this is that after the conference, he will go to the country and try to remove the name of the notorious Razakar Bahadur Bepari from the list of Razakars. But no one has yet brought this matter to the notice of the Minister.
Virginia expatriate heroic freedom fighter and journalist Harun Chowdhury said, freedom fighters were shocked and embarrassed by the incident. There is nothing more shameful than this. He said the Liberation War Affairs Minister was attending the 35th Fobana Conference but the Fobana authorities did not know about the freedom fighters in the local metro Washington (Washington DC, Virginia and Maryland). No one from Fobana told them about it. The Minister of Liberation War Affairs has put a scarf around the necks of some fake freedom fighters hired from New York. Zakaria Chowdhury, brother of the infamous Razakar in Fobana and former Shibir activist member secretary Shibbir Ahmed did not give any informations about the local freedom fighters to the minister.
Bir Muktijoddha Abdul Mukit Chowdhury, the commander of the Muktijoddha Sangsad in the United States, said I have heard the news of Minister for Liberation War Affairs Bir Muktijoddha A. K. M. Mozammel Haque’s arrival in Washington DC but none of the Fobana officials have officially informed the Muktijoddha Sangsad. That is why no freedom fighters of the Sangsad were present there. He mentioned that many people, including Rahim Ullah alias Rashed, who received the award from the minister in Fobana, were fake freedom fighters.
Former Shibir activist Shibbir Ahmed was elected member secretary of the 35th Fobana. Although he was a former Shibir activist in Laksam upazila of Comilla, he joined the Metro Washington Awami League in the United States. While studying at Nawab Faizunnesa Government College in Laksham in the eighties, Shibbir Ahmed alias Orpi Ahmed (pseudonym) was the senior vice-president of the present Metro Washington Awami League. He is currently a resident of Alexandria, Virginia. He has been a writer, journalist, lyricist and composer in the metro Washington area (Washington DC, Virginia and Maryland).
According to a report published in the Daily Sorejamin Barta on September 26, Shibir has been patronizing Jamaat-e-Islami including BNP in various ways even though he is based in Virginia, USA. Shibir Ahmed, a former active member of Shibir, came to the United States and infiltrated the Awami League, but through social media he expressed himself as the bearer of the ideology of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Although he is a child of Awami family, he has no involvement with Awami politics in the country. Apart from the patronage of Jamaat-e-Islami including BNP from exile, he tried to break it by creating quarrels by joining various organizations in the United States. In this regard, a well-known organization called ‘Friends and Family’ of Virginia can be mentioned. After entering the organization registered in 2009, he got into a quarrel and left the organization. In 2017, another organization with almost the same name secretly registered. Which was published in 2018. There are reports that there are 4/5 more organizations with the same name in the Metro Washington area. Besides, after the entry of Awami League in this area, the local Awami League committee has divided the party by creating quarrels in various ways. He has also been a senior vice president on a committee in metro Washington (Washington DC, Virginia and Maryland).
