The Canadian Border Services Agency (CBSA) did not allow Murad Hassan to enter Canada. He was dropped off at Toronto’s Pearson International Airport at 1.31pm local time on Friday (December 10). He was later flown back to a Middle Eastern country, according to Canadian airport authorities. Multiple sources close to Dr. Murad living in Canada have acknowledged the incident. The Canada Border Services Agency was contacted but declined to comment.
Several Bangladeshis living in Toronto, Canada, said the controversial former Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting, Dr. Murad Hassan landed at Toronto Pearsons International Airport on a flight to the UAE at 1.31pm on Friday. He was taken into custody by Canadian Immigration and Border Services Agency officials for questioning. Immigration officials at the airport have been questioning him for some time about the latest incident in Bangladesh, according to various sources at the airport. During the interrogation, he was asked about the recent incident in Bangladesh. He was also informed that a large number of Canadians had appealed to the government objecting to his entry into Canada. He was later flown to a Middle Eastern country.

Member of Parliament for Murad Hasan Jamalpur-4 (Sarishabari Upazila) constituency. His father, the late Matiur Rahman Talukder, was the president of the Jamalpur district Awami League. Murad has been making headlines for several days due to his controversial statements and actions on various issues. The recent spread of some audio-videos of the state minister on social media has caused a storm of condemnation and criticism across the country.
Meanwhile, Murad Hasan has been released from Jamalpur Awami League. Recommendations have been made to the Central Awami League for final expulsion. Besides, a decision on canceling his initial membership of the Awami League will also be taken at the next executive parliamentary meeting of the party.
