Shahnawaz and Partha Gupta have been running a home care business together for several years. Last year, the Corona epidemic hit the United States, prompting the federal government to provide Pay-Check Protection Program (PPP) loans to a number of businesses, including small businesses. Shahnawaz fraudulently hijacked 140 employees out of about $ 5,24,729 (approximately Tk 4,46,01965 in Bangladeshi currency) through fraud Pay-Check Protection Program (PPP) Loans.

At 1:29am on September 10 last year, Shahnawaz (aka Shah Mohammad Newaz, aka Shah M Newaz, aka Mohammad S Newaz) went to the police in the Northern Boulevard-115 area of ​​Jackson Heights of New York City Police Department and complained that his business ex Partner Partha Gupta sent him a text message threatening to kill him. Two months earlier, on August 29, at a street fair organized by Bangladeshis on 76-37 Street in Jackson Heights, he was beaten by a group of people including Partha Gupta a former partner of Golden Age Home Care and a popular instrumentalist at around 6:30 pm. During this time they displayed dangerous devices (pistols, revolvers, rifles, shotguns or machine guns) for the purpose of killing him (case docket number – ‘CR-020560-21QN’). He sought help of police for the safety of his life. Following the allegations, Taylor Scala, a police officer in the Northern Boulevard-115 area of ​​Jackson Heights, called Partha to the police station for questioning on the evening of October 4 last year. After receiving a phone call, Partha Gupta voluntarily went to the police station and detained him at the Northern Boulevard-115 police station till night after interrogation.
The next day, on October 5 Parth Gupta was sent to the nearest criminal court and the wise judge granted him bail. The court also directed to maintain distance from the plaintiff Shahnawaz.
