Staff Reporter: A violent robbery took place at a gold shop on 74th Street in the famous Jackson Heights area of New York, USA. On Friday evening (December 6), a group of robbers broke the front glass of Abid Jewelers and stole several pieces of jewelry. Despite the robbery happening on one of the busiest streets in New York, the police have yet to make any arrests. As a result, Bangladeshi and Indian business owners in the area are now in a state of panic.
Local business owners reported that a group of four or five individuals arrived in front of the shop on Friday night and began smashing the glass in broad daylight. They broke the door and made off with jewelry from the shop’s display. The sound of the glass breaking alarmed nearby businesses. Upon receiving the news, the police rushed to the scene.
The police have questioned the owner and staff of Abid Jewelers, as well as local business owners, regarding the incident.
