Blinken-Momen’s phone conversation after arrival Washington DC

Staff Reporter: After arriving in Washington DC, Momen spoke by telephone with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken. Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen is in Washington DC for talks with Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chairman Bob Menendez and several other senators. A spokesman for his ministry, Ned Price, said in a statement issued on February 23.
“The two leaders discussed the importance of a lasting solution to the Myanmar Rohingya problem and the importance of respect for labor and human rights,” Price said. The two foreign ministers discussed ways to deepen economic ties, counter-terrorism and defense co-operation between the two countries. They also called for working together to address common challenges such as climate change. They discussed the situation in Myanmar, especially a sustainable solution to the Rohingya refugee crisis. At the same time, emphasis has been placed on showing respect for labor and human rights.
They also pledged close cooperation to meet the challenges of South Asia and the greater Indo-Pacific region. Both leaders expressed interest in working closely to address challenges in South Asia and the greater Indo-Pacific region. Blinken congratulated Foreign Minister Momen on the occasion of the golden jubilee of Bangladesh’s independence.
