Padatik stages Shey

Banglapress Online: Padatik Natya Sangshad Bangladesh staged its acclaimed play Shey on Tuesday at Experimental Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy. The play, an adaptation of Shey, a compilation of short stories of Rabindranath Tagore, has been adapted and directed by Debashish Ghosh. Though Shey features 15 short stories of Tagore, the director has adapted six stories for the play.
The play features stories of science and fantasy, which are told by an old man to his granddaughter. The play revolves around an imaginary character named Shey who ventures to different real and imaginary places. Besides human beings, the play also features imaginary animal characters. Mariam Koli, Kamal, Mamun, Mizan, Dolly, Pavel, Foysal, Al Amin, SP Arannya, Shakil and others acted in the play.
Padatik Natya Sangsad Bangladesh premiered the play in 2011 on the occasion of Rabindranath Tagore’s 150th birth anniversary.
