Banglapress Desk: Jatiya Oikyafront convener Dr Kamal Hossain today demanded re-election while briefing the media this evening. Rejecting the election result, Jatiya Oikyafront demanded election under a non-partisan interim government at the soonest possible time. He said this at a press conference at his home in Dhaka around 8:00pm.
“It proves that free and fair election is not possible under any partisan government,” BNP leader Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, who was present in the briefing, said.
Despite bitter experience of the past, Oikyafront participated in this election after the prime minister and Election Commission (EC) reassured them of a fair election, a press release of the party reads.
However, this election was tainted with mass rigging across the country, it said.
