Staff Reporter: Coronavirus infections have risen again in the United States. Corona was identified in the bodies of one lakh six thousand people last Tuesday. And, on the previous day, on Monday, the corona of more than one lakh 84 thousand people was identified. Behind this deteriorating situation is the Delta variant and the slowdown in vaccination activities in many states.
More than 98 percent of people in the United States currently live in areas with a ‘high’ or ‘moderate’ risk of infection locally. A month ago, 19 percent of people were at risk.
The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has taken into account the number of infections per lakh in the last seven days and the number of infections in proportion to the total number of samples tested to determine the level of infection risk locally.
The CDC also recommends wearing masks at home in ‘high risk’ and ‘significant risk’ areas of infection. Emphasis has also been placed on this activity in areas where vaccination is slow.
Last Monday, the CDC listed 2,361 counties as “high risk of infection.” But in the first week of last month, 457 counties were on the list. This shows how much the situation in the country has deteriorated in the last five weeks.
According to Johns Hopkins University, corona was identified in the bodies of 106,000 people last Tuesday. And, on the previous day, on Monday, the corona of more than one lakh 84 thousand people was identified.
