Protest rally of expatriate minority community in front of White House

Staff Reporter: Demonstrations have taken place in front of the White House in Washington DC demanding justice for those involved in attacks, arson and vandalism of Hindu houses, temples and mandaps in Bangladesh. Local time on Friday (November 19) organized by United Hindus of America, Gathering of various organizations of expatriate Hindu community in the United States.The rally was attended by thousands of men and women from Hindu, Buddhist, Christian and other indigenous communities in different states, who demanded an immediate end to torture and police harassment of minorities, including Hindus. At that time, leaders of the organization gave separate affidavits to the White House, State Department, Bangladesh and Indian Embassy.

After receiving the Qur’an in a puja mandaps in Comilla, in protest of the attack on temples and puja mandaps in different parts of the country including Dhaka, Comilla, Feni, Kishoreganj, Chandpur. The United Hindus of America called for a rally in front of the White House to protest the attack.
Thousands of Indigenous men and women from indigenous communities, including Hindu-Buddhist-Christian expatriates in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maryland, Virginia, Washington, D.C attend the gathering and chanted slogans in the White House area.

Speakers at the meeting said the communal riots were part of a deeper conspiracy. They demanded to identify and arrest the artisans behind the incident. If anyone from the Hindu community is involved, action should be taken against him.

Speakers mentioned that irrespective of caste, creed and creed, it is necessary to stand against the miscreants with the spirit of liberation war. Bangladesh’s status in the world has been tarnished, a statement has also come from the United Nations to protect the minorities. We never wanted such a Bangladesh.

The speakers further said that Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman had sown the seeds of secularism in this country. Which can no longer be found. Hindus, Muslims, Buddhists and Christians – we are human beings. We, the followers of traditional religions, did not leave the country during the partition of 1947, nor did we leave the country during the war of liberation. That means we want to stay in this country. Then why is this happening to us. Why are our houses being set on fire?
Foreign Minister of Bangladesh. Speakers drew the attention of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina by demanding the resignation of AK Abdul Momen, condemning a recent false statement.

Nityananda Kishore Das, Nabendu Bikash Dutta, Subir Barua, Shitangshu Guha, Dr. Provas Das, Bidyut Sarkar, Shyamal Kar, Bhajan Sarkar, Dinesh Majumder, Shuvo Roy, Gopal Saha, Ranjit Saha, Rupkumar Bhowmik, Bhabatosh Mitra, Govinda G Bania, Priyolal Karmakar, Ramdas Gharami, Pradeep Malakar, Ashish Bhowmik, Vishnu Gop and Prabir Ray spoke at the meeting.
