President Azad GS Ibrahim of Greater Noakhali Society in Connecticut

Staff Reporter: In the inauguration ceremony held on February 11, the names of Abul Kalam Azad President and Ibrahim M Saeed General Secretary were announced in the new committee for a period of three years (2023-25). In July last year (2022), the decision was taken to form the first Greater Noakhali Society in the state of Connecticut. The final committee was formed in the last meeting.

Other elected members of the association are vice-president Dr. Mir M Chowdhury, Abul Khair, Delowar Chowdhury, Abul Kalam Azad, Asst.General Secretary Robiul Alam, Mohammad Alam (Arif), Organizing Secretary Abdullah Al Mamun, Joint Organizing Secretary Masudur Rahman, Treasurer Rezaul Karim (Reaz), Public Relations Secretary Mafuzur Rahman, Women Affairs Secretary Ferdous Akhtar (Rupa), Social and Cultural Secretary Mohammad N Hasan, Student Affairs Secretary Imam Uddin Imran and Sports Secretary Mohammad Shamim. Executive members are – Nuru S Sapa (Rashed), Md Nuruzzaman, Md Imam Hossain, Abu Naser and Imran Hossain.
The new Executive Committee of the Greater Noakhali Society was sworn on February 11 at the Tabernacle Seventh Day Adventist Church auditorium in Bridgeport, Connecticut.

The newly elected president and general secretary said, Our main objective is to nurture the native culture in the diaspora.Our organization will be worthwhile if we can spread the practice of Bengali culture among everyone, including children and teenagers growing up in the state of Connecticut.
There are several other social and cultural organizations in Connecticut. Newly elected President Abul Kalam Azad and General Secretary Ibrahim M. Said said that the newly formed Greater Noakhali Society will not work as a competitor of any organization.
