Noman Sabit: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina arrived in Washington DC on Friday (April 28) afternoon to attend a ceremony organized on the occasion of 50 years of partnership between Bangladesh and the World Bank at the headquarters of the World Bank. The plane carrying the Prime Minister landed at Dulles International Airport at 3:37 pm local time. Bangladesh Ambassador to Washington Mohammad Imran welcomed Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at the airport. At this time, the alternate director of Bangladesh in the World Bank, Ahmed Kaykaus and other officials were present. After a 4-day bilateral visit to Japan, She went to Washington DC for a 6-day visit. This time, her sister Sheikh Rehana is accompanying the Prime Minister on his visit to the United States.
According to the Bangladesh Embassy in Washington DC, the formalities of the visit will begin with a meeting with IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva Sheikh Hasina at a hotel suite tomorrow Saturday (April 29) afternoon.

The Prime Minister will attend the event organized on the occasion of 50 years of partnership between Bangladesh and the World Bank at the World Bank headquarters on May 1. Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will present a research paper titled ‘Reflection on 50 years of Bangladesh World Bank Partnership’ as part of a program at the Bangladesh Socio-Economic Development Seminar. The president of the World Bank will also speak on the occasion.
On the same day, Sheikh Hasina will attend a private meeting with the Board of Directors of the World Bank. In the seminar, the victory journey of development of Bangladesh and the activities of the World Bank in the country in the last five decades will be highlighted. Besides, a multimedia exhibition titled ‘Bangladesh-World Bank 50 Years Partnership’ will be organized to highlight the cultural heritage and artworks of Bangladesh.

Before this, the managing director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) is scheduled to meet Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on the afternoon of April 29. High-ranking officials of the US-Bangladesh Business Council will attend a private meeting with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on May 2.
Later, US Chamber of Commerce President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Suzanne P. Clarke will meet the Prime Minister.
On the same day, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will join the US business delegation as a keynote speaker at a ‘high-level executive’ round table at the invitation of US-Bangladesh Business Council President Nisha Biswal. Besides, the prime minister will also meet with the next president of the World Bank, Ajay Banga.

Hundreds of leaders and activists of the United States Awami League and affiliated organizations gathered at Dulles International Airport to welcome Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. There is a flood of happiness among the leaders and activists of the United States Awami League based on the Prime Minister’s visit this year.

Next Tuesday (May 2) in the auditorium of the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in McLean, Virginia.The President of the United States Awami League Dr. Siddiqur Rahman and Acting General Secretary Abdus Samad Azad said that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will be given a civic reception on the initiative of the United States Awami League.
