Popular representative of Dinajpur district and Parbatipur upazila chairman Md. Hafizul Islam Pramanik returned home after a 20-day visit to the United States.
He feels lucky to have received a visa to travel to the US a few hours before the US State Department imposed a ban on visa policies on May 24.
He said, “After the visa ban, I would not have gotten a visa so easily with my wife just to visit my daughter.” He said, my luck is very good. Met a lot of people from the area including daughters, sons-in-law and granddaughters while visiting the US.
On July 15, Parbatipur Upazila Chairman Md. Hafizul Islam Pramanik went to the United States on a family visit. He left New York for Bangladesh on the evening of July 28 after visiting various states of the United States for 20 consecutive days.
During his visit to the United States, Hafizul Islam told Bengali Media Bangla Press that during his two terms tenure as the upazila chairman, he has made great progress in the area. He has done numerous developmental works including construction of two-storey buildings in various educational institutions including schools, colleges and madrasas, road paving and bridge culvert construction, village-to-village electricity connection, development of haat bazar, modernization of the upazila parishad, which will be remembered by the people of Parbatipur forever. He said that these development works have been possible only because of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s good eye on Parbatipur.
Mustafizur Rahman Fizar, our Dinajpur-5 Constituency Member of Parliament and former Minister of Primary and Mass Education Ministry, is certainly the one who is committed to these tasks. These development activities would not have been completed without his support. For this, on behalf of the people of Parbatipur, he sincerely thanked the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and the MP of Dinajpur-5 Constituency.
Hafizul Islam has been serving the people of the area as a public representative since he was re-elected as Parbatipur Upazila Chairman in 2019. Before this, he served as Upazila Chairman of Parbatipur from 2009-2014.
From 1992 to 1998, he was the President of Rostamnagar Ward Awami League of Parbatipur Municipality. From 1998 to 2002 he worked as the treasurer of Upazila Awami League. Since 2002, As today he has been serving as the president of Upazila Awami League. Before this, he represented the people as the Chairman of Rampur Union Parishad No. 3. At that time Hafizul Islam was elected as the best UP chairman among 103 union parishads of Dinajpur in the fiscal year 1998-99.
Hafizul Islam Pramanik was born in 1965 in Singimari Kazi Para village of Rampur Union of Parbatipur Upazila. In personal life he is married. Has 2 daughters and a son. His Eldest daughter Shiuli lives in the USA. Younger daughter Shyamoli is a doctor by profession. Currently working in a hospital in Dhaka. The youngest son Tajul Islam is studying law at a university in London.
