Staff Reporter: The first picnic and reunion of Rajshahi University Alumni Association was held in Washington DC, USA. Last Saturday (October 23), for the first time at Gwen Thomson Briar Patch Park in Washington DC, more than a hundred members of their families, including former RU teachers and students, took part in the banquet.
On campus that has spent a youthful time of life. Life becomes happier when you have the opportunity to meet a friend or teacher on that campus. Goes back to the pages of memory, albeit temporarily. He said that he came to Milon Mela after a long drive for two hours, but despite the fatigue in his journey, there is no trace of that fatigue in his mental relief. There is a strong feeling of participating in the fair.
The event was organized to spread peace and harmony in the lives of people under house arrest in Corona. The program started at 10 am and lasted till 4 pm.
Participating in the program, the former students of RU reminisced about the classrooms in the campus including Tukitaki Chattar, Paris or Tutbagan. They expressed a desire to return to campus life again.
Participants said that even though each person has different departments, the memories on campus are the same for everyone. So I went back to the memory of getting all the teachers, friends, big and small on campus in the heart of Washington.
Former registrar of RU said. Mohammad Entazul Haque said, “I am very happy to see so many RU students in Washington.” I am very proud to see that Washington based RU is going to be an alumni. I wish success and longevity to this organization.
The first part of the reunion was an introductory session, followed by reminiscences, meals and coat cutting. Jewel Barua, Labanya Hasna and others performed songs in the cultural part of the day-long festival.

Former Registrar of RU Dr. Mohammad Entazul Haque, Dr. Ashraf Ahmed, Dr. Mushfiqur Rashid, Dr. Atiyar Rahman, Dr. Nazrul Islam, Firoz, Dr. Saad Ahmed Kabir, Nazrin Jawardar, Fatema Siddique, Jasmine Kabir, Khanam were present at the gathering. Tuhlafa Haque, Ashrafun Nesha (script), Ariza Mahid (Tiba), Salma Rahman, Dr. Yasmin, Shamima Ahmed, Mohammad Manjurul Alam, Mozammel Hossain (Zillu), Mohammad Azad, Azizur Rahman, Himu, Karthik, Kaikbad and Sumon. Former student of RU. Abu Jafar, Kazi Wahiduzzaman Swapan and Zahid Rahman were present on the occasion.
Organizers said one of their goals would be to actually collaborate with someone at Rajshahi University in Washington. At the same time, the organization wants to work for the welfare of the community and the quality of the students.
A convening committee has been formed in Washington to formalize the RBI alumni. Alumni will be promoted by the hand of that committee. The members of the committee are-Jasmine Kabir, Dr. Farida Yasmin, Kazi Wahiduzzaman Swapan, Mohammad Manjurul Alam, Azizur Rahman, Sumon, Zahid Rahman.
