Bangla Press Desk: A 14-month-old girl died after falling from a second-floor staircase at Sattola slum in Banani area of Dhaka on Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Khadija Akter, daughter of Dulal Hossain, who works as a cleaner, reports bdnews24.com.
Dulal said Khadija’s mother was busy with household work in the morning when the child accidentally fell from the second-floor staircase.
She was rescued in critical condition and taken to a local hospital. As her condition deteriorated, she was shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) in the afternoon, where doctors declared her dead.
Dulal said he is from Shariakandi upazila of Bogura and currently lives in the Sattola slum in Banani.
Inspector Md Habibur Rahman, in-charge of the DMCH police camp, said the body had been kept at the hospital morgue and the concerned police station had been informed.
